FAQ

What is the Windrider Summit?

The Windrider Summit & The Sundance Film Festival Experience 2022 will take place from January 23-28, 2022. The Windrider Summit is a one-of-a-kind cultural experience. It is an opportunity to attend the premiere festival for independent films and interact with a community who shares a belief in the transformative power of story. It is also a chance to bring a distinctively spiritual and theological lens to film and explore some of the most important topics in our culture. Windrider provides a customized experience, curating the best of Sundance’s offerings along with exclusive benefits available only to Windrider Summit participants.

Can only film or theology students participate?
Our participants come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Our goal at Windrider is to enter into thoughtful conversations around faith and film and we believe that these conversations are for everyone.

Whether they will be attending virtually or in person

All payments must be submitted by December 3. If you want to be invoiced directly for the registration fee, email ryann@windriderproductions.com or you can pay via our PayPal link.

We will offer 100% refunds until December 10 and 50% refunds from December 10-December 27. Starting December 28, we can no longer offer any refunds due to expenses incurred in the production of the event. However, any fees collected will be considered contributions to the Windrider Institute and you will be provided a letter acknowledging the amount as a donation.

When can I start reserving Sundance film tickets? Will I have control over the films I see?
Windrider will help in selecting the films you will be seeing. You will have an opportunity to provide your preferences and our team will do what they can to ensure you receive those tickets. Tickets will be reserved throughout December and January. While at the Summit, the Windrider team will have additional tickets available for purchase each day.
Covid-19 Information
The Sundance Institute requires in-person attendees to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine that is approved by the World Health Organization before attending all Sundance Film Festival events. For any events with indoor elements Sundance currently requires mask wearing. As an affiliate partner of Sundance, we must observe these requirements.
What should I expect from the host home experience?
Our host home stays begin on the night of Sunday, January 23rd and end during the day on Friday, January 28th (the 27th being the last night to stay over.) If you have the opportunity to stay with a host home in Park City, you will have a great experience!

You can expect very nice accommodations and personable hosts who would love to get to know you when there are moments to connect. Each host understands that you will have a busy schedule during your time at Sundance and therefore will most likely only see you in the morning and evening. For more information, view this host home etiquette guide.

What will I need to pack?
In addition to typical personal items and toiletries, be sure to pack warm clothing including a winter coat, hats, gloves, boots and thermal layers. The temperatures can be extremely cold and there is often snow and ice on the ground.
